Cold remedy whiskey cocktails, like the hot toddy (whiskey, lemon, honey, and boiling water), may actually help relieve cold and flu symptoms, Dr. William Schaffner, chair of preventive medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, told ABC News.
